Coronavirus: Do not flush disinfecting wipes and paper towels!

Talty SUD needs your help to keep drains working during the coronavirus pandemic. Products like toilet paper, wipes and paper towels have flown off store shelves in response to the pandemic. The City is reminding residents not to flush anything but toilet paper down the drain. Due to the demand of toilet paper, residents may be using wipes more. Since wipes were designed to be strong when wet, almost none of them break down on their way to the wastewater treatment plant, even those that are labeled “flushable.” Because they don’t break down, wipes can get tangled or twisted and caught up in your home plumbing or the sewer system, which can cause a sewage back-up in your home or neighborhood. We must be vigilant in not flushing them down the toilet and causing severe disruption in the wastewater infrastructure and treatment. Talty SUD Board of Directors has adopted NEW Landscape Irrigation ordinances effective January 1, 2009. The new ordinances require an installer of an irrigation system to be licensed by the commision (TCEQ) and obtain a permit from the Talty SUD office before the installation of the irrigation system and get the required inspections.

Talty SUD receives Superior Rating from the State of Texas.

Backflow Testing
Talty SUD requires annual testing of all backflow assemblies from September to November.

Disconnection Policy Change
During the July 20th Regular Monthly Board Meeting, the Board of Directors voted to change the Disconnect/Reconnect policy. This change is in alignment with the City of Forney's policy. Effective 10/1/2015, on the morning of the Disconnect date which will be listed on the Disconnect notice, a $50 Administrative Fee will be added to your account if payment has not been received. This fee will be applied to your account even if service has not yet been disconnected. In order to have service restored, the past due balance, Administration Fee and the current balance must be paid IN FULL.
